Today, while driving in the car, Thayne & I's song (is that how you say it properly?) "A Thousand Miles" came on. I was telling the kids that while we were engaged, daddy lived in California and I lived in Utah and how this song fit us so well.
From the back seat Samuel chimes in: "Was everything like McQueen?"
It took me a minute. Then I caught the connection - California. McQueen. The race for the Piston Cup!
Really, what other connection would he have with California, since he's never been there?? Samuel's got good thought processes... This one was just not all based in reality! :o) It made me smile. I wonder how many cute thoughts they have like that - that never make it out of their mouths...
My other favorite comment of the day was from Hyrum. We were getting dinner ready and I was asking Anna what she would like for her vegetable and Hyrum said: "She could have ice cream for her vegetable!"
...no I don't teach my children that ice cream is a vegetable, they come up with that all by themselves. Mmm, but think of the possibilites - - 3 to 5 servings of ice cream a day! ;)
