Carving Pumpkins

On Halloween, we finally got around to carving pumpkins! About half-way through, I (Erica) went over to Ali's house for a little bit to work on my sewing projects, while Thayne and the kiddos finshed the job!

First things first, Thayne let the kiddos pick out a design they liked for their pumpkin. After that - they got to "gut" the pumpkin...well Evelyn did - Samuel could barely stand to watch Evelyn grabbing all the nasty, slimy, orange "guts", so Thayne did his :)

After the pumpkin's guts were all in a bowl, the kids got to pick all the seeds out and put them in a new bowl. This is about the time I went over to Ali's and Thayne didn't take any pictures of all their fun!! But sometime while I was gone, Thayne baked the pumpkins seeds, which made a yummy snack for them, and the pumpkins got carved!! HOORAY!

Here are the finished products!! They did such a wonderful job!
P.S. - - A couple weeks ago, the kids had a chance to paint some pumpkins at Thayne's work's "Fall Festival." Hence, the painted pumpkins in the picture.
