Vacation or Hurricane Evacuation?

So my (Erica's) parents and youngest brother and sister came to visit over Labor Day weekend. The plan was for them to come on Friday night and leave Tuesday morning - except Jeffrey who had to leave Sunday to go back to BYU. Well, Hurricane Gustav had other plans. Gustav made landfall just west of New Orleans on Monday morning. While he was not the most powerful storm, Gustav knocked out the power in my family's home till this morning (Saturday), school for my sister was cancelled till next Wednesday and my Dad didn't have to go back to work till this coming Monday. So my family was able to have an extended "vacation" with us and wait out the storm!! As a side note -it may look like they are watching a movie, but they are probably watching the Tropical Update in that picture, we watched the weather constantly!

We had so much fun with them and I know the kiddos loved having their Grandparents, Uncle, and Aunt to shower them with love and attention! Mom, Dad, and Christy, we miss you already!

Ironically, their is another hurricane in the Atlantic...we joked with them that they shouldn't leave just yet, because Hurricane Ike is headed in the same general direction! While we joked a little about these hurricanes, we know how powerful they can be and our prayers are with all those in the path of these hurricanes...

Hey, we haven't talked in awhile so I thought I'd say hey. Your kids quotes are so adorable! My friends who evacuated from New Orleans call it "hurrication" and their kids calls it "e-vacuummating" Cute, huh! HOpefully there won't be any more this season!
